SEAN SEERY LAc, AEMP

Specializing in Pain Management, Nutrition & Integrative Care

Sean Seery is a licensed acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, and licensed massage therapist with a uniquely broad clinical background that spans acupuncture, nutrition, and hands-on bodywork. His integrative approach draws on decades of experience across multiple healing modalities, allowing him to offer patients a truly comprehensive path to wellness.

Sean began his studies in acupuncture and Oriental medicine at Bastyr University in 1999, where he trained at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and a variety of King County clinics, gaining significant experience in pain management. He completed a three-month externship at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and at Shuguang and Long Hua Hospitals in Shanghai, China, specializing in gynecology, internal medicine, sleep disorders, and tuina. He graduated in 2003 with a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is designated a Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM). Following graduation, Sean volunteered at the Kang Wen Clinic in Seattle and served as a supervisor in the Chinese herbal dispensary at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health for twelve years.

What sets Sean apart is his deep expertise in nutrition — an area he believes is foundational to long-term health. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at Bastyr University and genuinely enjoys helping patients with practical dietary guidance, from meal planning and cooking techniques to seasonal eating and grocery shopping. His philosophy is that there is no one perfect diet for everyone — that factors such as climate, constitution, and individual health history all play a role in making the right food choices for each person.

Sean also brings a skilled hands-on dimension to his practice, incorporating elements of Swedish massage, deep tissue, Chinese tuina, and cupping into his treatments. His massage training was completed at the Brenneke School of Massage, and his bodywork practice reflects the same integrative, whole-person philosophy that guides his acupuncture care.
