STELLA SHIN, LAc, AEMP, DAOM

Specializing in Pain Management, Women's Health & Integrative East Asian Medicine

Stella is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in the state of Washington and is NCCAOM board-certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She focuses on acute and chronic pain management, women’s health and fertility, post-operative care, stress, sleep disturbances, headaches, and gastrointestinal concerns, while supporting a wide range of other conditions. Her approach to treatment centers on identifying and treating the root cause of disease—not just the symptoms—while strengthening the body’s natural ability to heal, maintain balance, and prevent future illness.

Stella’s path into medicine began with a deep passion for supporting others. She started her career in research and clinical laboratory settings, contributing to the healthcare field from a scientific perspective, before transitioning into direct patient care. This shift allowed her to more meaningfully connect with patients and support their well-being firsthand. Having been born and raised in East Asia, she developed an early appreciation for traditional medicine and the importance of balance across physical, mental, and emotional health. She is especially motivated by witnessing the positive changes in patients, from subtle improvements in complexion to an overall sense of well-being, between when they arrive and when they leave the treatment room.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Washington and completed her Master of Acupuncture with a specialization in Chinese Herbal Medicine, as well as her Doctorate of Acupuncture, from Bastyr University. Stella has trained in diverse clinical settings, including Harborview Medical Center, Providence Regional Medical Center, and private practices, where she has worked with a wide spectrum of conditions ranging from acute trauma to chronic and complex cases. Her experience at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center further informs her ability to bridge modern biomedical science with traditional East Asian medicine, supporting a well-surrounded approach that integrates both clinical insight and holistic care.

Outside of her clinical work, Stella enjoys cooking, baking, dancing, and traveling, and believes strongly in food as a source of nourishment and medicine. She is fluent in both English and Korean and is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive environment for all patients.
